Nexus Towers

PROJECT OVERVIEW

RB Industrial was approached by the Project Manager of the Nexus Towers Body Corporates to provide an access solution for a challenging project. The scope involved a complete roof and façade screening replacement for both the North and East towers, as severe corrosion damage affected 80% of the area.

Situated along the Broadwater foreshore, the project presented numerous challenges including working at heights of over 70 meters, adverse weather conditions, access limitations, and a lack of solid structure for scaffold installation. Extensive planning, programming, and coordination were required to overcome these hurdles.

The project had a tight timeline, with only a 3-month window to install the scaffold, complete the roof and façade works, and remove the scaffold. Despite the constraints, RB Industrial successfully delivered the project within the allocated timeframe.

Notable Details

The foundation consisted of only 96 jacks on 186 legs.
Each tower required 1200 braces for cantilevering and structural support.
16 X-beams, ranging from 6m to 10m, were utilized per building.
Approximately 140 tons of materials were used across both towers.
The project duration spanned 14 weeks, involving approximately 4,200 man-hours of construction work.
The project achieved an impressive safety record with zero Lost Time Incidents (LTIs).
A total of 20 team consultation hours were invested, involving collaboration between the Body Corp, site team, designers, and engineers.
The project required 50 design hours and 20 hours for engineering and certification.
